A Peek at Our Little Corner of the World…

Charcoal Silver Pup and Chocolate Lab

We are adding this new feature to our web site.  I hope you enjoy our ramblings and find some helpful information along the way.  Today, I would like to take a minute to introduce myself and tell you a bit about us.  My husband, David, and I have been married for nearly twelve years.  He is retired from law enforcement and I am retired from the healthcare industry.  We also owned a gun shop until about four years ago.  Those of you who attend gun shows in Wichita, KS would remember us as Dave’s Gun Shop.  A lot of friendships were made over the years in that business…

DuckCreek is the name of our “piece of heaven here on earth”.  We are fortunate enough to live in the country and have a bit of room to spread out.  The coyotes sing us to sleep at night along with the owls.  Songbirds greet us in the morning.  The acreage allows plenty of room for our dogs to explore and offer countless training opportunities  in the ponds and native grasslands.

Our dog kennel consists of an eighteen by twenty foot kennel.  It boasts four indoor/outdoor covered runs and is climate controlled for comfort throughout the year.  It is surrounded by a large fenced yard to add security for the dogs when we are unable to have them with us.  I want to let you know, even with the nice facilities, our dogs spend the majority of their time at our feet in the house or “working” with us around DuckCreek.

One last note for today.  Our Charcoal Silver Lab, Tula, is expecting her next litter in December.  She has been bred with a Light Silver male.  We expect light silvers from this litter. Deposits are being excepted at this time.
